Our Story
Established in 2021, HELPING HEART FAMILY RWANDA is a youth-led NGO founded by RWIKANZA Gentil and University of Rwanda students, in collaboration with Rwandans residing in Belgium. Focused on promoting and protecting the rights of children; children in street situations, alleviating poverty, unemployment, and low living standards among children. Further our organization addresses issues such as high drop-out rates, inadequate parental care, and lack of essential resources for children. HHFRwanda registered under the Rwanda Governance Board (Certificate No. 939/RGB/NGO/LP/10/2023), we are dedicated to transparency and accountability, aiming to make a positive impact on living standards of children in Rwanda.
At HELPING HEART FAMILY RWANDA, we firmly believe in fostering community engagement and encouraging parents to actively participate in addressing challenges facing their children rather than being mere observers or critics. Our primary focus is to promote and protect the rights of children; runaway children in particular. Further, we welcome members from diverse backgrounds, transcending divisions based on religion, tribe, education, or any other factors. By coming together and pooling our resources, we aim to build a flourishing country where children’s rights are provided and protected.
HELPING HEART FAMILY RWANDA has it’s headquarter in Gasabo District and a branch in Huye District, while operating across all districts of Rwanda. Our goal is to have a comprehensive presence throughout the country to maximize our impact and ensure effective operations. By extending our initiatives and programs to additional regions, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of Rwandan communities; children in street situations in particular, fostering a spirit of providing equal rights to children, collaboration, and positive change towards the well-being of children.

What we do
Through the units of Education and outreach for children, empowerment and legal units we offer support for vulnerable children, family and local authorities’ empowerment with rights of children and promoting children’s rights awareness.
How we do it
Through collaboration with local government, members and compassionate individuals, HHFRwanda; Offers financial and material support to the vulnerable children including paying school tuition, medical insurance and school materials. Empowers local authorities and families with human rights awareness especially the rights of children. Rising awareness and the understanding of rights of children as enshrined in different laws and regulations. Through community outreach HHFRwanda works on all fronts to ensure that parents and local authorities at the grassroots level know the rights of children and their obligations.
